Grandparent afternoon was a super ending to a busy half term. The children really enjoyed chatting to all our visitors and sharing their toys. A big thank you to all the grandparents that came to share our learning.
We have been very creative in Year 1! The children were really engaged with our mini Toy Story topic, producing some wonderful collages and pictures on the ipads. We have been busy designing and making finger puppets and following instructions to make real working torches! Last Thursday when we had our Nottingham Rugby visitor the children were really engaged and impressed us with their developing ball skills.
The highlight of this week has been using our weighing knowledge to bake biscuits in maths today! The children were super busy and we made over 300 biscuits! We hope you enjoyed them too! We also had a fantastic start to the week when Mrs Tanner brought in lots of old toys to share with us.
We are very impressed with all the reading going on at home. We have got lots of marbles in our jars. Please keep it up.
Welcome back and thank you for our kind Christmas gifts.
This half term our topic is 'Toys' and we launched it today with a fun session on the Wii followed by a circle time sharing toys that we play with today. We really enjoyed looking at all the photos brought in!
We are really pleased to see that many children did lots of reading over the holidays and are ready to start our reading challenge.
Please ensure children have their PE kit in school - we have noticed lots of children haven't got jogging bottoms as part of their PE kit. The weather is very cold so it would be a great idea to send some in as we sometimes have to go outside rather than in the hall.
