We finished a busy half term with a fun Easter egg hunt. The children loved looking for the eggs that the Easter Bunny had left!
We hope you all have a lovely break and we will see you on Tuesday 18th April!
Over the last two weeks we have had lots of fun and exciting days in Year 1. We really enjoyed our walk to the library. The children walked sensibly and completed their observation sheet. They listened to exciting stories and found lots of interesting books to share.
The children were amazing scientists last Friday during our Science day. We investigated circuits, magnets and found out what shape makes the best wheel. We used our observational skills to look at stones, crystals and fossils.
Thank you for all your kind donations for Red Nose Day. The children looked great and we had so much fun singing the song in assembly!
The highlight of this week had to be our Pirate Day! Everyone looked amazing in their pirate outfits and we had great fun doing pirate activities. We created story scenes and wrote fantastic stories inspired by Nick Sharratt's book Pirate Pete. We made pirate maps, boats that floated and wrote menus after looking at the rhyme: 'Not in the Mood for Pirate Food.' 1WB enjoyed their visit to the library, and we are now planning a visit for 1P, as it was cancelled on Friday due to the rain. All the Year 1 children have been busy creating 'Naughty Bus' stories on the iPads and this week we really enjoyed sharing them with the Year 4 children. What a busy week we have had!
This half term we are learning about journeys and transport. We have been busy using construction kits to make different vehicles and have enjoyed starting our coding lessons on the lap tops, where we are learning to create our own computer programs!
