Both classes managed to fill their marble jar for doing lots of reading at home. The children chose to have extra playtime, taking all the inside toys outside on the field and had a fun treasure hunt too!
We have been busy this week designing and making bird feeders which we are looking forward to hanging up in our school grounds next week. Thank you for all the bottles, pots and trays you sent in. We have started learning all about owls and the children are impressing us with their knowledge. Our capacity work in maths has been great fun too!
We have enjoyed looking a book about Christopher Nibble - the guinea pig who loves dandelions. We were lucky to meet a real guinea pig on Thursday and we have enjoyed collecting dandelion seeds from the school grounds. The children have really impressed us with their super writing and we even sent an email to Mr Nibble today!
The week has finished with some detailed still life art work which is now brightening up our classrooms.
We have had a fun first week back after the holiday. We have been exploring the school grounds looking at different plants and trees. We also planted our own seeds which we are hoping will soon start to grow as big as the enormous turnip which was in our story this week! Class 1P found a huge apple in the fruit basket on Friday and made up a fantastic story together about it!
