This week we have been learning all about bees and how important they are to humans. We enjoyed acting as bees, sucking up nectar to make honey and pollinating flowers.

Here we are busy with our Finger Gym. This week our jobs were…

  • Write one question and one facts about bees,
  • Write two sentences about the bee photos,
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to draw a bee,
  • Colour in a repeating pattern – yellow and black,
  • Use the tweezers to pick up and sort the seeds.

To celebrate Father’s Day, on Friday we invited Daddies, Grandpas, Mummies and Carers into school. We had such a fantastic time planting bee-friendly plants and also making lots of things to attract insects and birds to Foundation, including;

  • Bird feeders,
  • Bug in Mug / Jar hotels,
  • A wonderful, great big Bug Hotel!

We also made some beautiful pebble bees!

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us. We had such a lovely time!

THANK YOU also to those who contributed to our Bug Hotel by bringing in crates, plant pots, etc. It is much appreciated.

Next week, we will be learning about the importance of trees.

On Monday, both classes will be visiting the library. Please remember to send your child to school with their library card if they have one.

Have a lovely weekend! 🙂
