Our Y6 High 5 team excelled themselves by winning the Rushcliffe Schools tournament! They then progressed to the County finals where they came fifth. Well done to all the players and a big thank you to our netball/ High 5 coaches Mrs Salisbury and Mrs Hill.
Bike Club concluded the Spring Term with year group and relay races to give the children the opportunity to test out the skills we have been practising this half term. Earlier this week children from Y3-Y6 represented Abbey Road in a Nottinghamshire School's Swimming Gala. As well as competing in individual races of frontcrawl, breaststroke and backstroke, plus the traditional relay events, the children also had fun with a polo style relay, and a team woggle race. Our fabulous year 6 Sports Leaders have been teaching the staff skipping games and yesterday all the children had great fun learning new skills and games which they can then incorporate into their play and lunchtimes.
