Ten children from Years 5 and 6 represented Abbey Road at a cross-country event yesterday. The children weren’t competing as a team; they were running as individuals, trying their very best to qualify for the Rushcliffe squad. Twelve boys and twelve girls from across the whole borough were to be selected and our runners were determined to give it their all!

Both staff and parents were incredibly proud of all of our runners – the race was fast-paced and some of our children were taking part for the first time. Six members of Abbey Road finished in the top twelve, three boys and three girls, and they will go on to compete against athletes from different boroughs in the new year, hoping to qualify for the Nottinghamshire team. Good luck to them and well done to all!
